2024: A Record Year for Business Tourism in Bordeaux

The year 2024 marks a turning point for Bordeaux, strengthening its position as a leading destination for professional events. According to the Business Tourism Observatory, led by the Convention Bureau, the slight decline in the total number of events (3,300 events recorded across 29 event venues and hotels vs. 3,500 in 2023) is largely offset by an increase in their scale and duration. This is reflected in the significant rise in congress days, reaching 690,000 – a 12,7% increase compared to 2023 – and an estimated economic impact of €262 million.

This growth is driven by the dynamism of the congress and trade fair sector, while corporate events remain stable or show a slight slowdown, contributing to a significant increase in international visitors.

Top 3 months: November, March, and October.
Top 3 sectors: Science & Medicine, Politics, Law & Social, Banking & Insurance.
