Business Tourism Barometer: 1st Half of 2024

A STRONG DYNAMISM!

In the first six months of 2024, Bordeaux hosted 1,843 events.

Despite a slight decrease in the number of events, the number of congress days increased by 3.3% compared to 2023.

This indicates that the destination is attracting larger events, both in terms of participant numbers and duration.

This growth is an indicator of the attractiveness and quality of events organized in Bordeaux, as well as the effectiveness of local infrastructures to host large-scale congresses.

The increase in economic benefits highlights the importance of business tourism for the local economy and its crucial role in supporting various sectors, including hospitality, catering, retail, and services.

March was the busiest month of the first half, followed by June and May.

The balanced distribution of participant types reflects the variety of events organized and Bordeaux's capacity to attract different types of professional audiences, confirming its position as a preferred destination for both local and national/international events.

In conclusion, the results of the first half of 2024 demonstrate a solid performance of business tourism in Bordeaux. The growth in congress days and economic benefits confirms the city's appeal for professional events while highlighting the importance of adapting to market changes to continue attracting large-scale events.
