Euratlantique : a residential and business district emerging around the Saint-Jean Train Station
The area surrounding Bordeaux’s main train station is undergoing a metamorphosis thanks to one of the largest regeneration projects in France.
The project is taking shape over an area that links 3.6 km of old and new neighbourhoods, including the TGV train station and business centre, new hotels, new housing and new cultural facilities, breathing new life into the south of the city.
The facilities are designed with a business clientele in mind, such as the new convention centre, equipped with a 300-seater auditorium and meeting rooms.
Euratlantique is already home to some grand hotels: the Hilton Garden Inn, the Golden Tulip, the B&B Gare Hotel. They alone account for almost 400 rooms. Meininger Hotel is also due to open in 2021, with 162 rooms.
As a business district with a cultural soul, Euratlantique is also home to la MÉCA - la maison de l’économie et de la culture en Aquitaine (the Aquitaine ‘economy and culture’ exhibition space, inaugurated in June 2019) - with cultural events designed for a business audience.
