Eco-certified partner

No need to get lost in the jungle of labels anymore — we have brought together eco-certified tourism and event industry stakeholders under one single distinction.

Nearly 250 tourism and event industry stakeholders in the Bordeaux metropolitan area hold a certification or label recognizing their commitment to environmental sustainability, and often also to inclusion and accessibility. These initiatives have been audited by independent organizations. Since it can sometimes be difficult to navigate the different labels, we have made things clearer with a single unified sticker while ensuring the credibility and rigor of the approach.

Eligibility criteria

All listed stakeholders are members of the Bordeaux Metropolitan Tourist and Convention Office. They hold a valid certification or label issued by an independent organization, including commitments related at least to the environmental pillar — and, whenever possible, also to the social pillar — of sustainable development.

Recognized certifications and labels

The following certifications and labels are recognized: Green Key, EU Ecolabel, Ecocert, Environmental Display (ratings A and B), ISO 14001, ISO 20121, EnVol, the ATES label, Lucie Progress, Lucie 26000 or Lucie Positive, GreenFood Label, Ecotable, the CCI Eco-Challenges, NF Environnement, validation under ADEME’s Restaurant Excellence Program, Prestadd, Travelife, Engagé RSE AFNOR, Haute Qualité Environnementale (HQE – High Environmental Quality), and Sustainable Entertainment.

Mission-driven companies are also included among the recognized criteria.

Wine estates

For wine estates, the Vignobles & Découvertes label — which guarantees a high-quality visitor experience at the property — must be combined with at least one of the approaches recognized by the Bordeaux Wine Council (CIVB): Cultivons Demain, Organic Farming, Demeter, Terra Vitis, Biodyvin, Zero Pesticide Residues, Agri Confiance, AREA, and HVE3.
