With 1,498 professional events held, the total number of events decreased by 22% compared to the same period in 2023. However, congress days surged by 28.7%, reaching 400,607, reflecting a clear shift toward larger, longer events. This trend underscores Bordeaux’s growing appeal for ambitious gatherings with more participants and multi-day formats.
Major economic impact
Economic benefits reached €152.23 million, underscoring the vital role of business tourism in supporting local sectors such as hospitality, dining, retail, and services.
Remarkable internationalisation
The second half of 2024 saw a dramatic 160.3% increase in international visitors, leading to an unprecedented balance of participants:
- International: 35%
- National: 34%
- Regional: 31%
This diversity reflects Bordeaux’s increasing appeal to a global audience and its strengthened position as a top international destination.
A stable yet varied event profile
The dominant sectors remained consistent with the first half of the year, although notable changes emerged compared to the second half of 2023. The top five sectors stood out, highlighting a clearer focus compared to the previous year’s broader diversity.
