Le Gabriel, founded in 2009, was acquired in early 2019 by Château Angélus. It is thus passed on to a family particularly attached to the region and its influence, the Boüard de Laforest family.
In an elegant 18th century mansion, with breathtaking views of the famous Place de la Bourse as well as the emblematic "miroir d’eau", Le Gabriel proposes a cocktail bar, a bistro as well as a gourmet restaurant called L'Observatoire.
A place dedicated to the enjoyment of fine food
Château Angélus CEO Stéphanie de Boüard-Rivoal once again called on Alexandre Baumard, the Michelin-starred chef of the Logis de la Cadène, to run Le Gabriel. Supported by his brigade, Alexandre Baumard, the Michelin-starred chef of the Logis de la Cadène, he will perform his culinary art with sensitivity in three distinct areas of the establishment.
On the ground floor,
the bar with its cosy décor looks out over the Place de la Bourse from one of the most beautiful terraces in the city. Flavoursome food will be served there throughout the day. Pastry fans will be able to enjoy the fine patisserie imagined by the head pastry chef Damien Amilien.
At the end of the day, creative, precisely-prepared cocktails will be accompanied by simple and refined titbits. Lovers of Champagne and fine wines can discover a wine list with a widely diverse and carefully-selected choice of references.
On the first floor,
Le Bistrot du Gabriel will offer seasonal, regional and generous cuisine guided by the choice of produce. Generosity and sharing will be the theme, to include table-side carving, dishes to be shared and a dessert trolley.
On the top floor,
L’Observatoire, Le Gabriel’s gastronomic restaurant, created for very special moments, will open in September. Lovers of fine-dining will be able to savour the inventive, refined cuisine of Chef Alexandre Baumard.
Last but not least, Stéphanie de Boüard-Rivoal wishes to make Le Gabriel an ambassador for the wines not only of Bordeaux, but also for those from different regions of Europe and from the World as a whole.
